iStock technical issues

It happened with me for the first time.
I was very confused.
Most don't want to have any problems with New Year's illustrations right before the holiday.
But, as it happens, I saw a not so pleasant message on my monitor:

"We looked really hard. But it appears the page you seek doesn't exist anymore. You can continue on to iStock.com or report this 404 error to Customer Support."

Oh no! My funny "Fire Monkey", my dear "Cat on a Big Smiling Apple"! Only approved! My poor vector darlings:))

I wrote to Customer Support. Described my problem there. Then started looking for solution to similar problems in the Internet.
People say that this problem does happen sometimes with new pictures. Ok, but what am I to do?
I decided to try the tip, where you need to go to the edit page, find description of the file, change it and save.
I added one more tag, edited the description and saved.
It worked, my friends!
Now the pages with two problem files open fine. And I can see that:

 And that:

But!
There is another file with page opening  problem.
Mozilla Firefox page with "new view" shows me that:

"The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

And Google Chrome page shows me that:

"ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS"

(And that is one of my New Year's illustrations, by the way! There is so little time before holiday!)

I found the only way I can see my file:
To see it, I need to switch site to classic view before.

Not the most convenient solution. And obviously temporary. And it worked in Firefox, but don't worked in Chrome...
Now I'm waiting for help from the support.
And my "Cat with Chinese Lanterns" waiting with me:))

UPD: iStock's support is excellent! I thank them very much. All fixed, everything works.
Maybe it sounds too simple, but calling (or writing) support is often the best way to solve the problem.

Cats welcome in my portfolio!

Cats began to appear more often.
Unexpectedly. Previously they did not exist.
Why I started to draw them? Can anyone explain it to me? :)

Happy cute cat sitting near the lake and enjoys the dragonfly.
A dragonfly flies out from a small house in the reeds.

By the way, soon there will be more. There should appear a very cute Christmas cats! And not only!

How I missed the lower prices on iStock

The fact is that the prices on iStock simplified from 13 September 2014.
The price of any illustration from the Essentials collection now equal to 1 credit.

I haven't downloaded anything new so I missed the moment of transition to the new rules.
Meanwhile those illustrations, which previously was worth up to 12 credits, already sold for 1 credit.

As for me, my lightbox "1 credit illustrations" has lost its original purpose. It was created as a folder with the budget illustrations. Now you can easily put all my portfolio in this lightbox:)
Is it good or not? It is not quite clear.
One thing is clear, any illustration from the Signature collection now costs 3 credits.
I don't have any work in Signature collection:(  It is available for exclusive Istock authors. I don't belong to them, unfortunately.

Well, there's always something to strive for.

Here you can read more about this innovation: Simplified pricing on iStock <= link to the original website

New background for my Blogger

Today I asked  myself a question how to insert my background in blogger.

Well, first we need to select the picture.
It must be JPG, GIF or PING format, no larger than 300 kb and max 1800x1600px.

I chose a smaller version of my own illustration. By the way, it is in stock here:

Sea Theme Background by Northseapics

Then we will need to go to Settings => Template => Configure => Background => Background Image => Here we need to click on the arrow to the right of the photo. A popup window will appear => To upload an image => Review => Choose the file on your computer => OK.

When the file is selected, it remains to edit image location on the page.
If the file size does not match 1800x1600px you can, for example, choose "Tile"

The dimensions of my illustration is different from standard proportions (remember, 1800x1600px), so I lined the upper-left corner, and chose "tile".
Since my background is seamless (infinite) vertically, I quietly chose the option "scroll with page".
If your background is not endless vertical, it is better if it doesn't scroll. A check box is better left blank.

Experiment with position of the picture on the page. By scrolling in the bottom of the screen you can see the preview. The alignment tool is intuitive and simple. Play with the settings and enjoy the result.

Vector illustrations. In what format?

I stopped to upload images in the .EPS8 format.
Just stopped
Despite the fact that I don't use a gradient in my vector illustrations, I begin to load .EPS10. Only EPS10.

In fairness, I should say that on Istock I added the archive with PSD and AI files for regular EPS10 and JPEG.

Actually, I'm always interested in whether these formats. Or upload, for example, PNG or PDF? I've heard that some authors do.

Something (...or maybe Someone?) adorable

After a lo-o-o-o-ong break I upload my vector images again.
I have created a small collection of cute eggs characters. I think they're adorable! Digging in my portfolio, you can find them all.
It gives me great pleasure to create something like that.

P.S.  Halloween is coming.
But I have new Easter pictures...
And how to understand my inspiration?..
